Kashmir that was called “Paradise on Earth” by Amir Khusru is blessed with an amazing natural beauty. Srinagar: The capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, it is also the place where most tourists begin their stay. The city is home to beautiful lakes and enchanting gardens. Whether it is taking a shikara ride in the pristine waters of Dal or Nageen lakes or marveling at the lush greenery of Mughal gardens, your heart will revel in each of these. Also visit the Jama Masjid, Rozabal Shrine and Shankaracharya Hill. You can experience snow if you go in the winter months. Do not forget to take pictures in ethnic Kashmiri outfits.

Gulmarg-Gondala

Gulmarg: Gulmarg means “The Meadow of Flowers.” It is a breathtakingly beautiful hill station framed by vibrant flowers of different hues. You can enjoy the contrast with snow-covered peaks. It also has a the world’s highest Gondola (cable car) that will allow you to experience the beauty of this spectacular place from high up in the sky. During winters, you can also enjoy skiing. The gondola ride is a must-do.

Sonamarg

Sonamarg: Sonamarg also means “Meadow of Gold.” It is close to the Zoji La Pass which is the gateway to Ladakh. It is well known for its Thajiwas Glacier. You can trek up the glacier easily or take a pony. Sonamarg is also the confluence of many lakes and rivers. Vishansar Lake at the height of 4048 m offers spectacular views. Sonamarg is about two and a half hours drive away from Srinagar on the Srinagar-Ladakh Highway.

Pahalgam_Valley
